Dating your Guitar

It’s pretty simple to date a Japanese Built Takamine Guitar. Here’s how;

YYMMDDNN(N)
YY is the year
MM is the Month
DD is the Day
NN is the NNth guitar made that day.

So… 01020345 would be the 45th guitar made on 3rd of February 2001.

Dating a G series instrument, however, is not so simple and there is no hard and fast rule.
